Founder of Home Away Assist
“Care should never be compromised—especially when you’re far from home.”
My name is Zaid Bin Zafar, and I’ve spent over a decade in the UK health and social care system—first as a frontline carer, then as a care manager for eight years. I’ve worked shifts, filled gaps, supported families in crisis, and managed complex care plans for clients from all walks of life. Through it all, I saw what worked—and what didn’t.
I founded Home Away Assist to solve the problems I witnessed firsthand: rushed visits, poor communication, cultural misunderstandings, and a lack of emotional connection. I knew we could do better—and so I built a service that does exactly that.
Our clients, many of whom travel from the Gulf region for medical care or extended stays in the UK, need more than just basic support. They need trustworthy, respectful, culturally sensitive care that understands the small details—like language, food preferences, religious practices, and family expectations.
This isn’t just business for me—it’s personal. I lost both my parents within a year of each other—my mother in 2008, my father in 2009. They were in Pakistan, and I was in the UK. I couldn’t be there. That experience left a lasting impression on me and inspired my deep commitment to providing care that brings peace of mind, even across borders.
A few things I’m proud of:
At Home Away Assist, I work closely with carefully selected UK care agencies to provide pre-vetted, insured, and compassionate carers who speak your language—literally and culturally. From personal care to specialised support, we build each care plan with the family’s needs at the heart.
If you’re travelling to the UK and want to feel supported, respected, and understood, you’re in the right place.
